Astrophysics 101: Visiting a Black Hole

A course produced by Onlea for the University of Alberta

This course about Black Holes will include a number of on location interviews and demos, as well as the usual in studio scenes. Veronica was one of the crew during these location shoots. Graphic Design Fundamentals

Graphic Design Fundamentals was Onlea’s first course not created for a client. Veronica has been integrally involved in it’s creation from a few months into the project until it’s launch. Knitters of Edmonton

A ten minute documentary created as part of FAVA’s Video Kitchen 

A look into how knitting fits into the lives of three Edmonton knitters. This documentary is posted on Youtube, along with its trailer. Here is some more information about this doc.

Indigenous Canada

A course produced by Onlea for the University of Alberta with some final post-production changes made by the Faculty of Native Studies

Paleontology: Early Vertebrate Evolution

Paleontology: Theropod Dinosaurs and the Origin of Birds

Dino 101

A course for the University of Alberta

Dino 101 was UAlberta’s first step into online video courses. This now well-known and acclaimed course was produced by a team that later became Onlea. If you would like to learn more about Dino 101, here is the link to Onlea’s pageUAlberta’s page, and the Coursera page.

Roles/Responsibilities: start to finish creation of half of the hand-drawn in-video quizzes, Asset creation (for videos and interactive learning objects)

UAlberta Online Campus Tour

Created by University Digital Strategy (UDS) with the vendor You-Visit in collaboration with University Alberta International (UAI), the Registrar’s Office, Resident Services, and others

This online tour includes a tour guide who walks you through a step-by-step tour of campus (steps photographed with a 10mm lens). Veronica captured and edited the step-by-step photos, and was an integral part of planning and executing the project. Most of the 360-degree panoramas used are also hers (see below). Tours were created for all campuses: North and South Campus, Augustana, and Campus Saint-Jean.

UAlberta 360-degree Panoramas

The goal of the first re-do of UAlberta online maps was to humanize campus. Along with the map re-design, and the creation of 3D-models of UAlberta buildings, the team also took 360-degree panoramas. Veronica continued this work and created over 100 panoramas herself, earning the account its Expert status. These were later included in the online campus tour (see above).
